Top 3 Signals This Week
1) Jensen Huang woos Beijing as Nvidia finds a way back into China
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang visited Beijing this week as reports emerged that the company anticipates U.S. approval to restart AI chip sales to China.
Huang explained that U.S. officials are still reviewing the licensing applications for Nvidia’s China sales, and the company would need to rebuild its supply chain operations—a process he suggested might require up to nine months to complete.
“The Chinese models, DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi, are excellent,” he said.
Huang highlighted his appreciation for Chinese AI models’ open-source nature, which allows free downloads and local use on personal computers.
He noted that DeepSeek R1 has been downloaded by companies across numerous countries—claiming “99%” of users—for local deployment in healthcare, robotics, imaging, and various other applications.

Coinbase has unveiled the Base App, which replaces Coinbase Wallet as a comprehensive platform featuring Social by Farcaster, Messaging by XMTP, Payments, and Trading capabilities.
Revealed at Coinbase’s “A New Day One” event, the launch repositions Base as a three-component ecosystem: the current Base Chain Ethereum Layer 2 network, Base Build developer tools and resources, and the new Base App that acts as a consumer entry point to blockchain services.
The application incorporates hundreds of mini-applications spanning games to prediction markets, provides instant USDC payments through NFC technology, and features encrypted XMTP messaging that allows users to share content, interact with AI agents, or transfer funds.

💡 Headhunter’s Lens
The internet era rewards specialists, but we believe the future belongs to generalists. GenAI has already levelled the playing field, and the AI disruption is coming for knowledge workers.
We met with three thought leaders yesterday, and one of them, a Data Architect, shared that the future of work will reward multi-disciplinary talent. She envisions managing five team members and 15 AI agents in the not-too-distant future, perhaps in 5–7 years. And it might come sooner.
So what does that mean for you, especially if you’re thinking about your next job?
- Choose discomfort over comfort to learn new skills.
- Avoid roles that box you in, look for multi-disciplinary scope.
- Get your hands dirty with AI and have some use cases under your belt before your next move.
- Read more, especially in areas that train first-principles thinking such as hard science, economics, history, and so on.
